William "Bill" Leroy Shepherd

William “Bill” Leroy Shepherd, 93, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on December 19, 2023, in Salem, Arkansas. Bill was born February 21, 1930, in Westmoreland, Kansas to Emile Shepherd and Stella (Welch) Shepherd. 
 
Bill married Jacky Cryderman on March 12, 1954, in Oxford, Arkansas. Bill spent his working years as a dairy farmer and served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He loved his family, friends, and was a hard worker. He was a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend. 
 
Bill is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers, and four sisters.  
 
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, December 22, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Ron Helm officiating. The pallbearers will be Tony Pierce, Dale Young, Thomas Owsley, Raymond Owsley, Derrick Owsley, and Randy Shepherd. The interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Salem VFW Post #9777 in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
