William “Bill” Nelson Perkins was born October 3, 1938, in Camp, Arkansas to Pearl and Hasadore Perkins. He departed this life on September 1, 2024 at his home in Moko, AR at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 29 days. He married the love of his life, Joyce Fay Madden, on August 13, 1959 in Lake City, AR and to this union five children were born: Lee Perkins Caldwell (John) of Nesbit, MS, Lois Yancey of Saddle, AR, son-in-law, James Yancey of Oxford, AR, William Perkins (Sara ) of Moko, James Perkins (Carley) of Moko, and the late Edward Perkins (Delainya) of Texas. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to his large family of 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and had many relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, his son, Eddie, his parents, four brothers: Eddie, Rusty, Carl Hasadore, and Lloyd Ray Perkins and three sisters: Opal Holloway, Rita Tutor, and Lois Edna Perkins. He was of Pentecostal faith.
Work was no stranger to Bill Perkins. He was a farmer, truck driver, and all around handy man. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. He enjoyed fishing on Spring River and surrounding lakes. Bill had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He had a huge soft spot for all of his grandchildren and great grands that affectionately called him Pappy.
The Family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at Stateline Church on Cemetery Road, in Moko, AR with services beginning at 11:00. Brother Timothy Hendrix will be officiating and a eulogy will be by his daughter, Lee Perkins Caldwell. Interment will be in Stateline Cemetery at Moko, AR with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pall Bearers are: JC Caldwell, WH Perkins, Cannon Caldwell, Anthony Perkins, Daniel Caldwell, Michael Perkins, and Joh Light. Memorials preferred to Stateline Cemetery.
