Virgil White, age 71, of Mountain Home, Arkansas was born on March 24, 1946 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, son of Loyd and Dortha Bea (Frazier) White. He departed this life on December 2, 2017 in Mountain Home, Arkansas from congestive heart failure. Virgil was united in marriage to Mary Louise Phillips on December 8, 1972 in Joplin, Missouri. Virgil lived a happy life with his wife Mary of forty four years. He spent his working years as a convenience store owner and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved classic cars, collecting guns, coins, playing cards and gambling. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his wife, Mary White of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two sons, Dallas J. White and wife Carol of Wamego, Kansas and Christopher Volkman of Joplin, Missouri; daughter, Sherry Miller and husband Matthew of Thayer, Missouri; three grandchildren, Nickolas Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Peyton Price of Thayer, Missouri and Aleyna Hernandez of Hutchinson, Kansas; brother, Gaylen White of Carterville, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters (Michelle Conway and Rhealene Hernandez) and three sisters (Virgie Danley, Evelyn Cole and Violet White). Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Barker Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
