Virgie Mae Cotter, 78, of Viola, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Salem, Arkansas.  Virgie was born March 4, 1943, to Jimmy Gibson and Venita Mae (Tilley) Gibson at Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Virgie married Kermit Taylor Cotter on March 4, 1965, in Gainesville, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.  Virgie spent her working years as a Postmaster Replacement with the United States Postal Service and was the Avon lady for many years.  Virgie loved researching genealogy, doing puzzle books, playing cards and games, and was of the Church of Christ faith.  Virgie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Virgie leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Kermit Cotter of Viola, Arkansas; two daughters, Karen Pierce and husband Jim of Conway, Arkansas and Lisa Neal and husband Dennis of Viola, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Tyler Neal (Ashley Hutchins), Alex Neal (Gracie Johnston), Samantha Pierce, Andrea Pierce, and Mary Ella Pierce; many other relatives and friends.  Virgie was preceded in death by her parents and brother (Bobby Gibson).    

Memorial/Visitation services will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.  Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
