Vernon Bobby Williams, 79, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, was born August 27, 1937, son of Archie Vernon and Mary Dialtha (Frazier) Williams in Seminole, Oklahoma. He departed this life on May 29, 2017 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. Vernon married Sharon Anne Hill on February 1, 1964 at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He spent his working years as a pipe trades journeyman with Local #155 from Little Rock, Arkansas with 46 years of membership in that organization. Vernon was a member of the Masonic Lodge #418 of Salem, Arkansas, Past Master of the Mammoth Spring Masonic Lodge #496, Spring River Chapter of the Shriners, Elks Lodge #2539 of Highland, Arkansas, S.A.R. (Sons of the American Revolution), and the Saddle Volunteer Fire Department. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and was a member of Burk’s Chapel Church of Christ. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Vernon is survived by his two sons, Robert Williams and wife Mellony of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Archie Williams and wife Susan of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; daughter, Mary Kathleen Williams of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Williams, Bridget Watkins, Mckinley Raby, Justin Breedlove, Crystal Modderman, Carol Field, and Chris Adkins; nine great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Sharon Anne Williams), two sons (Vincent and John), two brothers (Noble and Terry) and two sisters (Arlene Williams and Mary J. Mosier). Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2017. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital, J.P. Hall Memorial Scholarship or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
