Sara Blalock Leech, 85, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Born on May 12, 1939, in Bastrop, Louisiana to Jeff and Lillian Blalock. She was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Glynndola Garrett, her devoted husband, Dick Leech III, and her beloved daughter, Carmen Leech Foster. 

Sara is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Elton) Neustel of Kingman, Arizona, her only granddaughter, Lily Foster of Mountain Home, her three sisters-in-law, Mattie Goodrich (Wayne) of Benton, Mary Narramore (Bob) of Dallas, and Mary Leech of Bryant, her niece Carla Mason (Johnny) of Viola, her nephew Brett Garrett of Little Rock, and her son-in-law Matthew Foster (Beth), and many more, cousins, countless friends, and loved ones. 

Sara lived a life filled with love, resilience, and faith. At a young age of 12, she gave her life to Jesus Christ and remained a deeply devoted Christian throughout her life. She found immense strength in her faith, even during the most challenging moments. Her faithfulness in Christ was evident in her positivity, kindness, and the way she lived with gratitude and compassion. 

On June 12, 1958, she married her childhood sweetheart, Dick Leech III. From this marriage they were blessed with their first-born Rebecca, ten years later, Carmen was born. 

For many years, Sara worked at Tipton Hurst Florist, where she shared her deep passion and love for flowers. She not only created beautiful arrangements but touched countless lives with her hard work and joyful spirit. Even after retiring, she continued to find beauty in flowers and loved to share that joy with others. 

After retiring, she and her husband Dick moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, to be closer to their daughter Carmen and granddaughter Lily. It was there that she found peace, happiness, and contentment, always being surrounded by her loved ones. 

Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, Sara’s positive attitude and unbreakable spirit never wavered. She persevered through every challenge that Parkinson’s brought her. She always had a smile on her face, carried herself with grace, and was determined to live fully, no matter the challenges. 

Her family and all who knew her will remember Sara for her smile, nurturing soul, and unwavering faith. She had a special gift for always making everyone around her laugh or smile. She had and endless collection of stories from her own life, ones passed down from the family, and creative ones that left listeners smiling. Sara was also known for her cooking, always preparing meals with love and care. Her ability to serve others, create a comforting environment, and share words of affirmation left an undeniable mark on the hearts of all who knew her. 

While Sara will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and joy will forever be in the hearts of those she leaves behind. 

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas with Bro. Tyler Harbur and Bro. Daniel Farris officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
