Robert Cecil King, 82, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, departed this life on July 19, 2022, in Cave City, Arkansas. Robert was born to Robert Lee King and Penelope Juanita (Black) King on December 9, 1939, in Bessemer, Alabama.
Robert spent his working years in as an accountant. He loved his family and was a member of the Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida, where he was the organist for twenty plus years. He played in a band for many years, enjoyed meeting people, and served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Robert leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Chris “Bo” (Karol) King of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Kreg King of Pensacola, Florida; two daughters, Jessie (David) Jensen of Salt Lake City, Utah and Julie (Adam) Miller of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Nora Miller, Warren Miller, Elsie Miller, Brittany King-Ilagan, and Drake King; one step grandson, Josh Powers; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; brother, Steve (Gloria) King of Daphne, Alabama; sister, Penelope (Jere) Gault of Atlanta, Georgia; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson (Dillion King).
No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
