Richard “Dick” Eugene Perkins, age 78, of Salem, Arkansas was born on August 11, 1939 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, son of Lloyd Cecil and Dosha Ada (Hill) Perkins. He departed this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas. Dick married Evelyn Joyce Williams on January 13, 1963 in Moko, Arkansas and to this union two sons were born. Dick worked as a maintenance supervisor at Tri County Shirt Company, loved fishing and was a member of the Camp Church of Christ. He served our country in the US Marine Corp and US Army for twenty three years, during the Vietnam Conflict and Desert Storm. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dick is survived by his wife, Joyce Perkins of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, David Perkins of Little Rock, Arkansas and Raymond Perkins and wife Jaquita of West Plains, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home, Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Ashley Pendergass and Bro. Marvin Rickett officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 A.M. until time of service Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Steve Thornton, Dillon Hubbard, Rick Williams, Kenny Williams, Gregg Cunningham and Bruce Barnett. Memorials may be made to the Childrens Home of Paragould, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
