Noal Devon Smith, age 90, passed away at the Lake City, FL Veteran’s Nursing Home surrounded by his family on November 13, 2017. He was born in Viola, Arkansas, March 11, 1927, to William Smith and Carrie (Deatherage) Smith-Ellis. He is preceded in death by his step father, Lloyd Ellis, siblings, Billy Ray Smith, Quinton Smith and survived by DeVoe Smith and Wanda (Smith) Cantrell. Noal was a disabled Air Force veteran from the Korean War. His professional career was in the Kansas City metropolitan area and retirement years in Bradenton/Sarasota, Florida and Harrogate, Tennessee. In 1956, he married Evelyn Brown and they had just celebrated their sixty first wedding anniversary November 11, 2017 on Veterans Day. He loved his country as much as he loved his family. Left to honor Noal is his wife, Evelyn (Brown) Smith, only child, Cathy (Smith) Schelstrate-Langbehn and her three sons, Nicholas Schelstrate, serving the US Navy, Alexander Schelstrate, serving the US Air Force and Mackenzie Schelstrate attending St. Petersburg College. He was a loving grandfather and father to these young men and a mentor to many others during his lifetime. An honorary military ceremony will be held at 11:00 A.M., April 14th, 2018 at Flora Baptist Church - Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas.
