Nadine Haynes Roberts

Nadine Haynes Roberts - September 17, 1941 - December 10, 2023

Nadine Haynes Roberts passed into her eternal life on Sunday, December 10, 2023 after several years of battling dementia.  In September, she turned 82 years old, having lived a long and wonderful life.

Nadine, a native of Southeast Missouri, was married to Benny Dee Roberts for 51 years until his passing in 2009.  To this union, four children were born: Everett, Karen, Darrell, and Jeffery.  Nadine carried her love of her family, students, and friends along the path of her life.  Nadine was a very gifted author and teacher and impacted the lives of thousands of students throughout her career at Naylor High School and Three Rivers Community College.  She would often be found with a book in her hands or sitting at her computer working on the next manuscript.  She, along with her husband, was an avid gardener and enjoyed the daily chores that made sure her home was surrounded by nature’s beautiful flowers.  She also loved spending time on the river with her loved ones.  

Nadine leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Karen Helm (Ron) and two sons, Darrell (Cindy) and Everett; six grandchildren: Lindsey Helm, Dylan Helm (Robin), Jerry Roberts (Holly) Creig Roberts (Jessica), April Ealer (Mike) and Bobby Roberts (Simone); Yancey Kearbey and Cassie Hayman, great-grandchildren: Braxton, Chesney, Hoyt, Archer, Maisy, Archer, Marley, Trevor, two brothers, Trumann (Karen) Haynes & Dale (Fern) Haynes; and very special family friend Kanyinsola Charis; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she all loved dearly.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, Benny Dee Roberts; one son, Jeffery Roberts, her parents, Eli and Edna Haynes; three sisters, Betty Jo Burpo, Helen Gower, and Fern Gower; one brother, Leighton Haynes.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
