Myrtle Lorene Martin, 67, of Salem, Arkansas passed away September 5, 2023, at her home in Salem, Arkansas. Myrtle was born September 15, 1955, to Lloyd Elmer Smith and Ruby Helen (Carter) Smith in Texas City, Texas.
Myrtle worked as a seamstress for Tri County Shirt Company for many years. Myrtle loved her family and her dogs (Noodles and Gizmo). Myrtle enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, tending to her chickens, and watching Dr. Pol. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and was of Christian faith.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Robin Coker of Lake Jackson, Texas; six sons, Kern Eldried (Heather) of Salem, Arkansas, Robert Martin (Sasha) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Roy Martin (Jennifer) of Salem, Arkansas, Earl Douglas Martin (Jennifer) of Houston, Missouri, Montgomery Martin of Mt. Grove, Missouri, and Jeff Davis (Connie) of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Deforrest (Tonya) of Seadrift, Texas and Russell Smith (Vicky) of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three sisters, Virginia Zehr (Arlis) of West Sunberry, Pennsylvania, Ruby Johnson (Joe) of Hardy, Arkansas, and Lucindye Anderson (Gary) of Hardy, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her parents (Elmer and Ruby Smith) and two brothers (Austin Lloyd Smith and Alvin L. Henderson)
A celebration of life/visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-12:00 noon Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family at FNBC in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
