Max Franklin Tomlinson, 91, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on October 7, 2019 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Max was born to the late John Franklin Tomlinson and Willie Maude (Hanley) Tomlinson on November 8, 1927 in Zion, Arkansas.
Max was united into marriage to Marget Adell Taylor on August 26, 1949 in Bald Knob, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. Max retired as a District 8 Forester and spent thirty five plus years working for the Arkansas Forestry Commission. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church.
Max leaves to mourn his passing; son, Kenny Tomlinson and wife Fay of Salem, Arkansas; two daughters, Marcia Dellinger and husband Gray of Melbourne, Arkansas and Frankie Foley and husband Bucky of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Chris Tomlinson and wife Michele of Salem, Arkansas, Deana Reed and husband Curtis of Harrison, Arkansas; Alex Dellinger and wife Karen of Little Rock, Arkansas and Matt Dellinger and wife Ashley of Batesville, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Tomlinson and wife Maci, Riley Tomlinson, Will Reed, Hays Reed and Ryan Reed; brother, Hays Tomlinson of Judsonia, Arkansas; sister, Diane Davidson of Batesville, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother-in-law (Joseph P. Davidson) and two sister-in-law’s (Carolyn Tomlinson and Gail Tomlinson).
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Hill Cemetery in Sage, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Donnie Bryant, Leonard Clements, Keith Tomlinson, Roy Cunningham, Scott Davidson and Keith McHenry. Honorary pallbearers are N.J. Benton, Larry Turner, and Ed Wadell. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
