Luetta Sue “Kitty” Benedict Butler, 65, of Salem, daughter of Florence Trombly (Rauch) and Race Sanders, was born June 21, 1957, in Salem, Arkansas. She died on August 3, 2022.
Luetta married Wayne Cheek on October 29, 1976, and to this union, three children were born. Later she married Steve Benedict on November 13, 1987, and to this union, three children were born. Luetta was a force of nature, an incredibly hard worker, enjoyed the outdoors, going fast, and always had a cup full of ice. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, friend to many, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her children, John Cheek of Springfield, Missouri, Quanna St. Mars of Jackson, Mississppi, Kittina “Bo” DuPuis (Paul) of Springfield, Missouri, Luetta Benedict-Stone of Salem, Arkansas, Stevi Smith of Springfield, Missouri, and Steven Benedict of Baxter Springs, Kansas; grandchildren, Sean DuPuis, John DuPuis, Brad DuPuis, Jasmine DuPuis, Vincent “Vinnie” DuPuis, Charly St. Mars, Alexandrea “Alex” Benedict, Wyatt Benedict, Jace Benedict, Ronnie Benedict, and Allison Benedict; spouse, Jerry Butler; two sisters, one brother, and a host of loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
