Leta Bell (Jeffery) Lucy

Leta Bell (Jeffery) Lucy, 89, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away from this life on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Salem, Arkansas. Bell was born September 12, 1933, in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Jesse Aaron Jeffery and Bessie Mae (Galloway) Jeffery. 

Bell spent her working years as a cook for various hospitals and nursing homes, she also worked for Baxter Lab and Mar Bax. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, friend, and was of the Baptist faith. 

Bell leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, David Wayne Lucy (Sue) of Melbourne, Arkansas and Roger Lynn Lucy of Gamaliel, Arkansas; three daughters, Anna Bell Martin of Salem, Arkansas, Janie Mae Hutson and husband Vernon of Viola, Arkansas, and Mary Ellen Miller of Salem, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Rhea Ducker of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (Jesse and Bessie Jeffery), granddaughter (Fran Hurst), two brothers (Estel J. Jeffery and Charles Edward Jeffery), and two sisters (Rhudean Harber and infant Mandy Mae Jeffery). 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges, Bro. Josh Pardue, and Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.  The interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas.  The pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Reagan, Dan Alter, Grandchildren, Carolyn Cawvey, Vernon Hutson, Herschel Ducker, Great Grandchildren, and Jennifer Newman.  Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital or the Shriners. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
