Judith Ruth (Sturm) Floyd (Gramma Judy), 85, was born July 15, 1936, to Ernest H. Sturm and Marjorie Jean (Anderson) Sturm in Bellwood, Illinois. She got called up to be an angel in the outfield at Wrigley Field on July 8, 2022, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas. Judith was united in marriage to Scoval Floyd on October 17, 1977, in Salem, Arkansas.
Judith spent her working years an assembler worker at the Tri County Shirt Factory in Salem, Arkansas. During Judith’s retirement she became an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and baseball card connoisseur. Sorting and trading baseball cards might be what she is best known for. She did get to watch the Cubs win the World Series in 2016. Despite hesitation to go and start attending activities at the Salem Senior Citizens Center she did make and develop several gaming friends and she mourned the passing of each. She attended the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem, Arkansas and was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Judith is survived by her, son, Thomas O’Donnell of Salem, Arkansas; five daughters, Kathleen O’Donnell of Conway, Arkansas, Mary Estes of Salem, Arkansas, Debi Sutherland (Den) of Camp, Arkansas, Ruth Skrapates (Randy) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Susie Hutson (Wayne) of Wiseman, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Stacy Skrapates (Jessica), Eric Sutherland (Vikki), Ian Williams (Ashley), Wes James (Leslie), Jesse James, Tiffany Weintraub, and Jamie Beck (Mike); twenty great grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Sturm of Forest Park, Illinois and Jo Kasinger (Bobby) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; brother, Michael Beyer of Forest Park, Illinois; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother (Vi Sturm), brothers (Pete Sturm and Leroy Stickle), sister (Martha Galloway), grandson (Josh Sutherland), two great grandsons (Peyton Fife and Wyatt James), and friend (Bernice Eldried).
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem, Arkansas with Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to the Salem Senior Citizen Center in Salem, Arkansas or the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC, in Salem, Arkansas.
