Judith Coleta Burns, 75, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Viola, Arkansas. Coleta was born on October 10, 1948, in Viola, Arkansas, to Carneil Lewis Burns and Ruby Inez (Cantrell) Burns. Coleta graduated from Viola High School and joined the United States Air Force. Coleta served for eleven years and was an air traffic controller. After leaving the Air Force she worked for the Arkansas Highway Department and later with the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier for many years. Coleta had a passion for helping those in need, especially the elderly. Coleta loved antiques, southern gospel music, her family, and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and was of Christian faith.
Coleta leaves to mourn her passing, three brothers, Lindel Burns and wife Lynn of Spokane, Washington, Larry Burns and wife Pam of Viola, Arkansas, and Gary Burns and wife Vickie of Batesville, Arkansas; three sisters, Jenene Rodgers and husband James of Viola, Arkansas, Janett Burns of Viola, Arkansas, and Kathy Burns of Viola, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (Carneil and Inez Burns).
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Neal officiating. The interment will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Lindel Burns, Larry Burns, Gary Burns, Bryan Guffey, Lane Guffey, and Carson Guffey. Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
