John Raymond McCullough, age 92, of Salem, Arkansas was born on December 2, 1924 in Salem, Arkansas, son of Luther Homer and Stella Ruth (Whitcomb) McCullough. He departed this life on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas. John married Mary Fay Isbell on January 31, 1946 in Vallejo, California and to this union two sons were born. John served our country in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. John is survived by his two sons; Jackie Gene McCullough and wife Edith of Raytown, Tennessee and Bobby Ray McCullough and wife Stephania of Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Lorene Cox of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Rev. Velda Bell officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Morriston Cemetery in Morriston, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Brian McCullough, Scott McCullough, Clint McCullough, Kevin Singer, Julie McCullough and Jett McCullough. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeffrey McCullough, H.D. McCullough, Roger Isbell, Nathan Singer and John Ed Isbell. Memorials may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
