Joel “JoJo” Kay Batterton, 50, of Viola, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Joel was born to Jurval “Jack” Neal Batterton and Peggy Jean (McNair) Batterton on December 24, 1968 in Pasadena, California.
JoJo was united in marriage to Amy Jean Huett on May 5, 2014 in Viola, Arkansas. JoJo was a musician, singer and song writer for over forty years. JoJo loved his family and was very dedicated to his wife, children and family. JoJo was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church and loved reading his bible and even taught himself how to read Hebrew. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
JoJo leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Amy Batterton of Viola, Arkansas; two daughters, KaleighJo Batterton of Viola, Arkansas and Avery Olivia Batterton of Viola, Arkansas; step daughter,Paige Belt and husband Brandon of Viola, Arkansas; step son, Cory Lamb and wife Jasmine of Bakersfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Amelia Lamb and Braxton Belt; father, Jack Batterton of Viola, Arkansas; brother, Terry Batterton of Viola, Arkansas; sister, Jurlene Richmond and husband Ronny of Viola, Arkansas; niece, Misha Rains; two nephews, Dustin Richmond and Tanner Batterton; great nieces and nephews, Sophia, Odin, Cainan and Evelyn; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother (Peggy Jean Batterton).
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Brad Curtis officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Salem First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Camp Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Doyle Pendergrass, Brandon Belt, Bobby Dawson, Mike Batterton, Cory Lamb and Gaylon Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Lane Chastain, Mark Mabe, Brad Dilbeck, Tony Chastain and Cass Dixon. Memorials may be left for the family at Barker Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
