Jesse James Smith, 50, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Salem, Arkansas.  Jesse was born January 26, 1971, to Edra Ray Smith and Gloria Jean (Vander) Smith at Modesto, California.

Jesse was a carpenter and loved to work with his hands.  He was kind, caring and his heart was full of love.  He liked to laugh and joke and will be greatly missed.  Jesse was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend and attended the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Elizabeth, Arkansas.

Jesse leaves to mourn his passing, parents, Ray and Deborah Smith of Salem, Arkansas; five sisters, Louwanna Smith (Bruce) of West Plains, Missouri, Caroline Smith (Jason) of Salem, Arkansas, Elizabeth Freeman (Stacy) of Salem, Arkansas, Anita Smith of Boise, Idaho, and Candy Beard of Modesto, California; four brothers, Raymond Smith of Willow Springs, Missouri, Richard Smith of Salem, Arkansas, Randy Smith of Boise, Idaho, and Troy Smith of Modesto, California; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Jesse was preceded in death by his mother (Gloria Jean Smith), sister (Sherrie Barlow), paternal and maternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas.  Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Elizabeth, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
