James David Turner

James David Turner, 61, of West Plains, Missouri passed away from this life on Monday, February 14, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri. David was born July 5, 1961, to James Orville Turner and Opal (Flynn) Turner in Little Rock, Arkansas.  

David was united in marriage to Dee Handeland on August 25, 1990, in Salem, Arkansas. David spent his working years as a truckdriver and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising animals, thrift shopping, and wood crafting. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend.  

David leaves to mourn his passing; son, Jesse Turner of West Plains, Missouri; daughter, Jodi Turner of Independence, Oregon; two sisters, Brenda Sparks of Gepp, Arkansas and Janice Harlow of West Plains, Missouri; his dog, Sheba; many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister (Mary Dawson), and two brothers (Wilburn Turner and Jerry Turner).  

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Gary Guiltner officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in the Camp Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Joie York, Johnny Davis, Ernest Moerschel, Bo Sparks, Bobby Dawson, and Vaughn Richard. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
