Gerald Watson Rorie, 84, of Oxford, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Salem, Arkansas. Gerald was born July 9, 1940, to Leonard Rorie and Naoma (Wheeler) Rorie in Rienzi, Mississippi.
Gerald was united in marriage to Susan Virginia Grantz on December 20, 1989, in Oxford, Arkansas. Gerald spent his working years as a truck driver, CNA, and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Gerald loved his family dearly and was an avid motorcycle rider. He was a member of the Three Rivers Bikers Church in Gamaliel, Arkansas and CMA (Motorcycle Club for Churches). He was the type that never met a stranger and was always a dear friend to all. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Gerald leaves to mourn his passing wife, Susan Rorie of Oxford, Arkansas; son, Gerry Rorie (Sheila) of London, England; four daughters, Paula Rorie (Gary Norbury) of London, England; Susan Kemp (Paul) of Spain; Naoma Manning (Lisa) of Tuckerman, Arkansas; and Crystal Guthrie (Joe) of Weldon, Arkansas; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; dogs, Cheyenne and Sassy; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents (Leonard and Naoma Rorie) and sister (Evelyn Stewart).
Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Three Rivers Biker Church, 4938 AR 101, Gamaliel, Arkansas, with Bro. Steve Schultz officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
