Gaylon Lee Turner, age 75, of Salem, Arkansas was born on March 10, 1942 in Wheeling, Arkansas, son of Troy Lee and Hazel Elizabeth (Moss) Turner. He departed this life on November 14, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas. Gaylon worked as an agent in both insurance and real estate. He also worked as a coach, teacher, farmer and pawn broker. He spent many hours helping in the building of the football field at Salem High School. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. Gaylon is survived by three sons; Blake Turner of Salem, Arkansas, Byron Price and wife Shauna of Salem, Arkansas and Charlie Broyles and wife Candice of Salem, Arkansas; three daughters, Cindy Atwell and husband Walter of Dora, Missouri, Kelly Lawing of West Plains, Missouri and Jennifer Brewer and husband Trent of Harrison, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Larry Turner) and son (Brent Price). Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Pallbearers are Donald Ward, Larry Humphries, Dr. Jim Bozeman, Jack Walling, C.O. “Tuffy” Smith, Mike Moore, Danny Lash, Clay Cochran and Bro. John Hodges. Memorials may be made to the Salem First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
