Dennis Lynn Brown, 70, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away from this life on Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Viola, Arkansas. Dennis was born July 20, 1952, in West Plains, Missouri to Hershel Marvin Brown and Nancy Clara Ann (Batterton) Brown.
Dennis was united in marriage to Donna Rae Harber on January 23, 1970, in Viola, Arkansas and to this union four children were born. He attended Arkansas State University and received a bachelor's degree in business. He spent his working years as a farmer and an insurance adjuster for forty-nine years. He was an avid Viola Longhorn fan, a 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite of the Valley of Little Rock, Scimitar Shriner of North Little Rock, forty plus years as a Mason, and 7-time Past Master of the Viola Lodge #741 in Viola, Arkansas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend, and member of the United Methodist Church in Viola, Arkansas.
Dennis leaves to mourn his passing, son, Darick Brown (Leesa) of Viola, Arkansas; three daughters, Darla Johnston (Doug) of Viola, Arkansas, Denise Clifton Jones of Viola, Arkansas, and Dawn Brown of Viola, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Dedra Richardson, Dolan Johnston, Devin Brown, Lakynn Bradshaw, Dalton Brown, Jenkins Clifton, Dacee Jones, and Alix Moran; six great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife (Donna Rae Brown), parents (Hershel and Clara Brown), two brothers (Charles and Carmon Brown), and son-in-law (Joseph Clifton).
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Craig Golden officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Dolan Johnston, Alix Moran, Jenkins Clifton, Devin Brown, Tyler Richardson, Adam Ledford, Dalton Brown, and Adam Bradshaw. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
