Delbert Lee Parnell, Sr.

Delbert Lee Parnell, Sr., 67, of Oxford, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Salem, Arkansas. Delbert was born in Union City, Tennessee on September 29, 1956, to James Harold Parnell and Georgia Joan (McCord) Parnell. 
 
Delbert was united in marriage to Elizabeth Irene Horton on August 19, 1978, in Crown Point, Indiana. Delbert worked as a forklift operator at a sawmill for many years. Delbert was a loving husband, loved his family, friends, fishing, and camping. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. 

Delbert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Irene Parnell of Oxford, Arkansas; brother, Leroy Parnell; sister, Carolyn Neal; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son (Delbert Parnell, Jr.), parents (James and Georgia Parnell), sister (Mary Lou Gamez), and four brothers (Jim Parnell, Andy Parnell, Richard Parnell, and Roger Parnell). 

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 5, 2024, at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Stevenson officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmie Horton, Randy Horton, Michael Horton, and John Marvin. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
