Cranford B. Hodges 
 
Born June 29, 1939, to James Horace and Nora Lucy (Stephens) Hodges, died December 16, 2023. 
 
He grew up in Viola and graduated from Viola High School with the class of 1957. 
 
He served in the United States Navy as a radioman. He went to radio school, graduating first in radio training out of a class of 180 seamen.  
 
Afterwards he married Linda Gay Fore on September 18, 1960. He attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa graduating in 1971 with a B.A. degree. He served the next year as an assistant Pastor, Christian school (interim) principal, Pastor, Adult Sunday School teacher, and song leader. He loved to play the guitar. He retired totally from his duties in 2021. 
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cleo Harris, William Elmo Hodges, Paul Hodges, Woodrow Hodges, Jarrel Hodges, James Hodges, Harold Buel Hodges, and Bradley Hodges; and sisters, Marguerite Hodges, Kathryn Burns, and Virginia Ashley. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hodges of the home; three sons, Mark Hodges and wife Margaret “Beth” of Gepp, Arkansas, Kevin Hodges and wife Leah of Lowell, Arkansas, and James Hodges and wife Julee of Monument, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Matthew Hodges and wife Corina, Bradly Hodges, Tiffany Hodges, Zachary Hodges and wife Katelyn, Haden Hodges, Jefferson Hodges, Anderson Hodges, and Bryson Hodges; two great grandchildren, Amellia Dale Hodges and Addelyn Clare Hodges; many other relatives and friends. 
 
 
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges and Kevin Hodges officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Fore Cemetery in Bakersfield, Missouri. The pallbearers will be Matthew Hodges, Bradly Hodges, Tiffany Hodges, Zachary Hodges, Anderson Hodges, and Bryson Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be Haden Hodges and Jefferson Hodges. Memorials may be made to the Fore Cemetery, PO Box 131, Bakersfield, Missouri 65609. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
