Clinton Franklin Bennett, 82, of Ash Flat, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Clinton was born July 21, 1938 at Couch, Missouri to Hubert Franklin Bennett and Opal Melissa (Alford) Bennett.
Clinton spent many years in Kansas where he worked as a yard foreman at Round & Porter Lumber and owned many rental properties. He returned to his home area in 1978 settling near Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas where he spent the rest of his life. He worked at the flooring mill in Melbourne as a supervisor until 1990 when he retired and raised cattle. He enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities.
Clinton leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Marie Hunt of Ash Flat, Arkansas; stepson, Daniel Hunt of Ash Flat, Arkansas; two brothers, Jim Bennett of Mountain View, Missouri and Phillip Bennett and wife Brenda of Hardy, Arkansas; sister, Glenda Steininger of Dodge City, Kansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, four sisters (Pauline, Lois, Carolyn, and Frances) and brother (Clifford).
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Kelly Russell officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Humphries Cemetery in Glencoe, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Charles Alford, Ben Miller, Arthur Miller, Jr., Bruce Van Alsburg, Eugene Miller, and Don Alford. Honorary pallbearers will be David Bennett, Link Humphries, Wayne Bennett, and Larry Humphries. Memorials made be made to Humphries Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
