Bruce Wayne Price, 70, of Salem, Arkansas, unexpectedly departed this life on the morning of Friday, August 12, 2022. Bruce was born to John Arthur Price and Florence Alma (Hazelwood) Price on September 22, 1951, in Paragould, Arkansas.
Bruce was married to Donna Sue Raney of October 19, 2002, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Bruce spent his working years as a plumber, pipe fitter, and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Unknown to many, Bruce was a highly decorated Army Veteran, as Bruce wasn’t one to boast about such things. Bruce was titled a door gunner in the United States Army of the 170th Aviation Company during the Vietnam War, but he valiantly did so much more. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism while participating in an aerial flight evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty. His love for his dogs was one of a kind. He loved to hunt, fish, and putter around the property in his side by side. He was a man close to nature, caring for the wildlife, birds, and the ground they called home. He was a friend to call on when in need and loved to help others succeed and show them how to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. He was a man of his word with a teddy bear heart. Countless memories and stories will be shared about him. Bruce could cook a steak, fry fish, or bake a cake like no one else. It was common for him to share homemade food with his friends, and if spending time with him, it’s probably over a cold beer. Bruce was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and was of the Christian faith.
Bruce leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Herb Rogers of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Jon Price of Brookland, Arkansas; daughter, Debbie Roberts of Jonesboro, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford Price (Jane) of Paragould, Arkansas, Bennie Price (Helen) of Drasco, Arkansas, and Duane Price (Carolyn) of Brookland, Arkansas; many other relatives, friends, and fellow veterans. He leaves behind a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends, but treasured memories for comfort. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter (Amy), two brothers (Gerald and Leslie), and two sisters (Audrey and Marilyn).
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the home of Herb Rogers (23 Spring Lake Drive, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, 72554). Memorials may be made to the VFW Post #9777 in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
