Bobby Wayne Mills, 69, better known as bub, Pa, or Pops, passed from this life while surrounded by family, at his home in Viola on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Bob was born to Robert Eldon Mills and Mary Faith (Williams) Mills on August 8, 1954, in Salem, Arkansas.
He was united in marriage to Dottie Adams in Salem, Arkansas on December 31, 1976, and to this union three children were born. In 2007 he was married to Marvene Holstine-Smoot on May 26 in Viola, where he acquired three more children with that union. He spent his working years continuing his family passion in the medical field, as a registered nurse, where he led three of his children to follow his footsteps in pursuing nursing. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War serving as a fuel specialist, with enough pride that his son also served his country. Bob was known for putting his heart into anything he did. He lived for being able to be a wonderful husband, son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather. Later in life he found joy and comfort in working the farm with his grand-daughter Kella, woodworking, and loving the Lord.Bob leaves to mourn his passing, wife and soul mate, Marvene Mills of Viola, Arkansas; son, Morgan Mills (Cheyenne) of Mountain View, Arkansas; four daughters, Justine Carter (Jimmy) of Mountain View, Arkansas, Kristin Ellis of Viola, Arkansas, Kellyn Smoot of Viola, Arkansas, and Kyla Robbins (Jordan) of Folsom, California; mother, Mary Faith Harmon of Golden, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Ryan (Lexie), Emily, Landon, Kimber, Kyler, Korbyn, Kella, J.J., Oliver, Nora, and Esther; brother, Jerry Mills of Alamogordo, New Mexico; three sisters, Carol Williams (David) of Golden, Missouri, Sharon Buerkle (Burk) of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Teresa Mills of Springdale, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son (Jordan Wayne Mills), father (Robert Eldon Mills), and granddaughter (Brooklyn Mills). Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 18, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. The interment will be in the Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan, Emily, Landon, Kimber, Kyler, Korbyn, Kella, J.J., Oliver, Nora, Esther, David Williams, Burk Buerkle, Jeff Burch, Tracy Dunn, Mike Batterton, and Jason Willett. Memorials may be made to the UAMS Myeloma Research Center or Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
