Audie Imogene Dobbins, 93, of Salem, Arkansas passed away from this life on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at West Plains, Missouri. Imogene was born December 25, 1929, in Wiseman, Arkansas to Earl E. Gleghorn and Evalee (Shannon) Gleghorn.
Imogene was married to Gene King on October 30, 1948, in Lake City, Arkansas and to this union two children were born. Imogene later married Cliff Dobbins on June 4, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri. Imogene worked as a secretary in Insurance and worked in RV sales. Imogene loved her family, doing word puzzles, pulling pranks on family members, and dancing. It didn’t matter what else was going on Tuesday nights were for dancing at the Salem Senior Center where everyone was like family. Before she had to stop driving at night, she and her lady friends would drive to all the surrounding dances several nights a week. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri.
Imogene leaves to mourn her passing, son, Melvin King and wife Donna of Independence, Missouri; daughter, Donna Good of West Plains, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brandon King of Blue Springs, Missouri, Tiffany Knopp and husband J.K. of Kansas City, Missouri, and Christa Noot of West Plains, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Kody Noot, Kaden Noot, Logan Noot, McKenzie Noot, Chloe Knopp, and Kinley King; brother, J.L. Gleghorn of Glencoe, Arkansas; three sisters, Della Watson and husband Gene of West Plains, Missouri, Doris Ballard of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and Genieth Batesel of Green Castle, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (Earl E. and Evalee Gleghorn), husbands (Gene King and Cliff Dobbins), and two sisters (Reba Weidner and Cleta Kent).
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Howell Memorial Park in West Plains, Missouri with Charles Jeffus officiating. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
