Albert "Bud" Ray Ellison

Albert “Bud” Ray Ellison, 100, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in Thayer, Missouri. Bud was born to Clarence and Florence (Phillips) Ellison on October 8, 1922, in Koshkonong, Missouri.  
 
Bud was united in marriage to Evelyn Edna Shelton on July 28, 1948, in Fryatt, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. Bud worked as a farmer, bus driver, and retired from the Mammoth Spring State Park.  Bud served his country in the United States Army during WW II.  Bud enjoyed his family, coon hunting, dominoes, cards, and buying and selling tractors.  Bud was baptized in the Church of God and was of Christian faith.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle, and friend. 
 
Bud leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Susan Schwartz of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Sherry Drumright (James) of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; son in law, Raymond Ray of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; Jennifer Calvert, Gary Loven, Jr. (Leila), Nikki Davis (Michael), Wendy Price, Aaron Schwartz (Amanda), Stephen Ray, and Andrew Schwartz (Delaney); eighteen great grandchildren, Sullivan Schwartz, Adrianna Schwartz, Reagan Calvert, Trevor Loven, Ashton Loven, Owen Loven, Julian Price, Brennon Price, Braydon Price, Braxton Price, Blake Davis, Tyler Davis, Savannah Ray, Slade Ray, Seth Ray, Summer Ray, Adalyn Schwartz, and Violet Schwartz; great great grandchild, Major Price; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife (Evelyn Edna Ellison), daughter (Deborah Ray), grandson (Raymond Ray III), parents (Clarence and Florence Ellison), sister (Jean Wilkening), five brothers (Earl, Roy, Victor, Lester, and Jack Ellison), and son-in-law (Marvin Schwartz). 
 
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Chad Hurst officiating.  Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.  Interment will be in the Sturgeon Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas.  Pallbearers will be Gary Loven, Jr., Michael Davis, Aaron Schwartz, Stephen Ray, Andrew Schwartz, Braydon Price, Brennon Price, and Trevor Loven.  Honorary pallbearers will be Truman Ellison, Butch Ellison, Junior Ellison, Randall Ellison, and Bob Ellison. Memorials may be made to the Sturgeon Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
