Patricia Ann (Balch) Bookout, 78, of Wiseman, Arkansas was born on September 6, 1938, in Tupelo, Arkansas, daughter of Hillman Howard and Inex Crayon (Willis) Balch. She departed this life on January 27, 2017 in Wiseman, Arkansas. Patricia married Bobby Charles Bookout on May 30, 1958 at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She spent many years as an elementary teacher and touched many lives. She was a member of the Wiseman United Methodist Church in Wiseman, Arkansas. To her family and friends, she was just Pat – a bubbly, energetic, on the go person who was very creative – especially in creating beautiful floral arrangements which she continued doing until her health declined. She would spend hours on her floral creations for friends and family, giving them for a special occasion or because she enjoyed sharing. Other than family and friends, her greatest love was her cat Sime, who occupied a special place in her heart and home. She and her husband gave many of these feline friends a wonderful home over the years but she always said Sime was the special one. Pat had so many friends, many she had known for over fifty years. She and her husband were married for nearly fifty six years. There are no words to express how grateful and thankful her family is to her caregiver, Tonia McGarvey, as well as others who gave such great care when it was needed. Because of Tonia and others who cared for both Pat and Bob, both were able to stay in their earthly home and live a full life until God called, first Bob, and now Pat, to their eternal home. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Balch and wife Janice of McCrory, Arkansas; sister, Katheryn Balch Dobbins and husband Charles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Aunt, Mary Ann Balch of Diaz, Arkansas; special caregiver, Tonia McGarvey and many other caregivers that assisted through the years and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother (Jim Balch). Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Violet Hill Cemetery in Violet Hill, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association or Parkinson’s Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
