Janet Louise Adams, 78, of Salem, Arkansas was born on October 6, 1938, in Salem, Arkansas daughter of Horace S. and Ona Faye (Harkleroad) Grimmett. She departed this life on December 14, 2016 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Janet was married to Harold Paul Adams on October 29, 1956 in Salem, Arkansas. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her working years as the district treasurer at Salem Schools. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a Layspeaker. She volunteered for school activities and fundraisers, the Salem Lions Club and was also a Girl Scout Leader. She served many years with the Salem Cemetery Association. She is survived by her son Dennis Paul Adams of Melbourne, Arkansas; daughter, Deborah Dumas and husband Gary of El Dorado, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Travis E. Adams of St. Louis, Missouri and Joshua Paul Dumas of El Dorado, Arkansas and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Paul Adams and her parents, Horace and Ona Grimmett. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
