Wanda Dungan, 86, of Fairhope, Alabama formerly of Salem, Arkansas was born on August 23, 1930, in Carthage, Missouri daughter of Harry and Martha Hunt. She was the ninth child out of ten. She departed this life November 1, 2016 at her home in Fairhope, Alabama surrounded by family.
Wanda enjoyed ceramics, painting, and was drawn to fishing. She is survived by four sons, Johnny Mefford (Debbie) of Salem, Arkansas, James Mefford (Gail) of Ash Flat, Arkansas, Robert Mefford (Dionne) of Folsom, Louisiana, and Mark Dungan of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two daughters, Cathy Loftin (Mitch) of Montgomery, Alabama and Martha Rose (Floyd) of Fairhope, Alabama; brother, Jimmy Hunt of Sanger, California; sister, Eva Walker of Marysville, California; 23 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind a host of friends from her beloved church First Missionary Baptist Church of Salem, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Martha Hunt; husband, Ellis M. Dungan; two daughters, Karen Jo West and Nancy Sue Wilkins; son, William Ellis Dungan; two brothers, Ray and Walter Hunt; five sisters, Margaret Abrams, Leona Hightower, Ruby Hutchins, Pauline Shore, and Opal Young.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Elder Leon Graves officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. Friday November 4, 2016 at Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers are David Allen, Randall Springstun, Michael Mefford, Adam Loftin, Jared Loftin, and Randy Mefford. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
