Annelore Shrable

August 11, 1928 — August 7, 2016

Obituary for Annie Shrable Annelore (Annie) Klara Shrable passed away in Gepp, AR on Sunday August 7, three days shy of her 88th birthday. She died in her home, where she had been cared for to the end by her nine children. Annie was born August 11, 1928 in Stuttgart, Germany to Wilhelm Karl and Klara Agatha (Braig) Grüb. She married Lewis “Bud” Shrable of Gepp, AR in Stuttgart in 1948 where he was serving in the US Army. He and Annie built a farm, a family, and a life in their home and work communities of Gepp, Viola, and Mountain Home. Annie and Bud raised cattle on their farm for years in addition to her work at the Marbax Shirt Factory and Baxter Laboratory. Annie drove a rural school bus for twenty seven years and cleaned for Viola Schools. She was known and loved by all around Viola’s campus as Mrs. Annie. In recent years, she taught toddlers at Viola Assembly of God, a church she loved and served in for more than half her life. Annie loved Razorback athletics and Cardinals baseball as well. Many years were spent lying on her bed with her radio tuned to KCMH out of Mountain Home for Cardinal home games. And no one could coach the Hogs through the television quite like Annie! She indulged her other great pastime in her later years with her kids as they took her to as many Gaither/Booth Brothers concerts as could be managed. Annie loved sports, singing, and Jesus. And she loved her children. Those left to mourn her passing include a brother Willi Grüb (Doris) of Stuttgart, Germany; daughters Rose Foster (Max) of Excelsior Springs, MO, Brenda Estes (Jack) and Helen Collins (James) of Viola, Diana Burns (Ron) of Sherwood, and Janet Byers (Rich) and Jeannie Langle (Rusty) of Batesville; sons Donald “Buster” Shrable (Penny) of Gepp, Dennis Shrable (Katie) of Flippin, and Kevin Shrable (Laura) of Bella Vista. Annie is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Elisabeth Gierch, and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be Wednesday at Viola Assembly of God at 10 o’clock a.m. The funeral service will follow at noon, same location, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home. Bro. Allen Cartwright will officiate. Interment is in the Shrable Cemetery, Vidette, AR. Pallbearers are Max Foster, Jackie Estes, Ron Burns, Richard Byers, James Collins, and Rusty Langle. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Carrie Martin with Legacy Hospice for her kind, loving care of our mother in these final months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shrable Cemetery.
