Eva Lene (Field) Estes was born in Union, Arkansas, May 1, 1932, daughter of James Forest and Emily Desta (Chesnut) Field. She departed this life Friday, July 22, 2016, at River Lodge Assisted Living Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Eva was united in marriage to Kennerd Russell Estes in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, August 19, 1945. She worked for many years as a nurses assistant, but her proudest moment in life was becoming a LPN in her mid 40's. She was of the Baptist faith. Eva was born into a family of twelve and was the last of her generation. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Cathy Curry (Garlen) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughter in law, Linda Davis of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Andrea Curry Taylor (Kevin) of Austin, Texas; three grandsons, Derek Curry (Lauren) of Collierville, Tennessee, Arles Estes (Erin) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charles Estes (Kat) of Houston, Texas; five great grandchildren, Haley Taylor, Ryder Taylor, Ellie Curry, Richard Estes and Richard Patrick Estes and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Estes; son, Ricky Estes; her parents, James and Emily Field; brother, Fred Field; and ten sisters, Ima Field, Bessie Neal, Vida Copeland, Wilma Beach, Mary Raymond, Jane Ricketts, Jimmie Sears, Eva Jean Spence, Clara Gammon and Mildred Sears.
Funeral services will be held July 26, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Pallbearers are Derek Curry, Andrea Taylor, Arles Estes, Charles Estes, Lauren Curry and Garlen Curry. Interment will be in the Agnos Cemetery in Agnos, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
