Jamis Cole Dockins was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas, July 30, 1997, son of Ambrose Dean and Terra Lynn (Bixler) Dockins. He departed this life Sunday, June 26, 2016, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas, at the age of 18 years, 10 months and 27 days.
Jamis loved basketball, was a big Cleveland Cavaliers/Lebron James fan and was known as "King Jamis" by his friends. He enjoyed time spent working and making friends at Fun Days Restaurant in Viola. Jamis will be greatly missed by all who knew and truly loved him. He was a member of Viola Assembly of God in Viola, Arkansas.
Jamis is survived by his parents, Terra Dockins of Mitchell, Arkansas, and Ambrose Dockins of Dolph, Arkansas, two sisters, Karlee Dockins and Kentessa Langston, both of Mitchell, Arkansas; a nephew, James Lee Langston of Mitchell, Arkansas; maternal grandparents, Terry and Dianna Bixler of Mitchell, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Judy Dockins of Dolph, Arkansas; many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 10:00 AM at the Viola High School Gymnasium in Viola, Arkansas, with Bro. Ryan Weyh officiating. Interment will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 28, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem. Pallbearers are Lewis Dunaway, Jaime Collins, Dalton Grigg, Brady Ramsey, Reece Walker and Derek Graves. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Grigg, Daniel Mayfield, Brett Mayfield and Nate Young. Memorials preferred to Mitchell Cemetery Association.
