John James Houser Sr was born November 15, 1941, in Hutchison, Kansas, the son of George Clyde and Hilda Bythenia (Holder) Houser. He departed this life Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his home in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 26 days.
John was a truck driver hauling freight for many years. He was a member the US Navy serving his Country and a past member of Thayer Eagles Aerie#4231 serving as Chaplain. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Rae Carter and Amanda Kay Barker (James); two sons, John Raymond Houser and John James Houser II (Brittany); six grandchildren, Johnathan Walker, Travis Barker, Vida Barker, John Houser III, Ariel Houser, Jasmin Houser, with a seventh on the way; six sisters, Sylvia Richmond, Frances Bruce, Alta Richmond, Roxie West, Sally Grandstaff and Sandy Gary; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patricia Carol; two sisters, Nancy Catherine West and Cora Ellen Nance; and a brother, Stanly Mason Houser.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016, 11:00 AM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at a later date.
