Roy Leonard Williams was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 20, 1926, the son of Thurman Lewis and Anna Iona (Emery) Williams. He departed this life March 17, 2016, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Roy was united in marriage to Emma Jeanettea Henry in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, on June 23, 1946. He served his Country during WW II with the United States Navy receiving several medals, including the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Roy was a farmer and a member of Sturkie Church of Christ. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his wife, Emma Williams of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Jerry Williams (Arlene) of Coarsegold, California, and Rick Williams (Stacey) of Harrison, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Deanna Williams, Matt Williams, Justin Williams and Tony Williams; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice Barnett of Lanton, Missouri, Joyce Perkins (Dick) of Moko, Arkansas, and Donna Rickett (Marvin) of Truman, Arkansas; three brothers, Bob Williams (Linda) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Paul Williams (Ovida) of Burt, Michigan, and Russell Williams (Glenda) of Corcoran, California; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Gene Williams; his parents; two sisters, Freda Peterson and Betty King; and two brothers, Jim Williams and Robert Williams.
Funeral services will be held at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, Tuesday, March 22, 2016, 2:00 PM with Bro. Matt Pendergrass and Bro. Ashley Pendergrass officiating. Interment will be in the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22, 2016, from 12 Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to Paragould Childrens Home.
