Truman R. Coggin was born Augut 20, 1921, in Morriston, Arkansas, son of George Samuel and Bertha Belle (Wells) Coggin. He departed this life Monday, February 1, 2016, in Granite City, Illinois, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Truman was united in marriage to Clarine Estes on September 26, 1942, in Salem, Arkansas. He spent his working years as a contractor building homes. Truman served his Country during WWII with the Army Air Corps. He was of the Church of Christ faith and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Truman is survived by one daughter, Sheila Kaye Brotherton (Richard) of Manchester, Missouri; two grandsons, Michael Brotherton (Jean Elizabeth) of Laramie, Wyoming, and Kevin Brotherton of Manchester, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Connor Brotherton; many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; five sisters, Erma Lynch, Lucille Bell, Venetta Humphrey, Janice Cantrell and Barbara Ninemire; and two brothers, Sanford and Winford Coggin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016, 11:00 AM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Pallbearers are Marty Ninemire, Blain Jackson, David Collins, Bruce Humphrey, Steve Coggin and Donald Cooper. Honorary Pallbearer is Keith Horton. Interment will be in Morriston Cemetery in Morriston, Arkansas. Family will receive friends Saturday, February 6, from 9:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
