Earl Edward Ostrander was born in Elba, Michigan, October 9, 1937, son of Howard Nelson and Alice (Hempsey) Ostrander. He departed this life Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Earl was united in marriage to Yvonne J. Raymond on May 17, 1958, in Cold Water, Michigan. He was a sheet metal journeyman in the construction industry and enjoyed his Black Angus cattle after his retirement. Earl loved to watch old black and white westerns, tv shows or movies. He was a big wild game hunter and was selected as one of ten in the world for a Muskox hunt in Alaska and has the trophy in his den to prove it. Earl will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Ostrander of the home in Salem, Arkansas; two daughters, Bonnie Geloge (Kevin) of Lapeer, Michigan, and Michelle Schneberger of Yelm, Washington; a son, Michael Ostrander of Salem, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Ostrander of Lapeer, Michigan, David Ostrander of Ocala, Florida, and Dennis Ostrander of Mayville, Michigan; many other relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Alice Ostrander, and nine siblings.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016, 12:00 Noon at Barker Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Winberry officiating. Memorials preferred to hospice of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
