Freda Faye Estes was born in Franklin, Arkansas, on August 9, 1926, daughter of William Remmel and Gertie Mae (Hackworth) Estes. She departed this life on November 28, 2015, at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 17 days. Freda was united in marriage to Elno Estes on November 28, 1946, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. She spent her working years as a homemaker and worked for nine years as a surgical nurse at Fulton County Hospital. She was a loving and doting mother and grandmother. Freda was a member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. She is survived by two sons, Stanley Estes (Kathy) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Jerry Estes (Barbara) of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Evan Estes (Jennifer), Eli Estes (Katie), Cassidy Estes and Beau Estes; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle Estes, Carson Estes, Andrew Velek, Nathan Velek, Brady Velek, Oliver Estes and Elida Letson; two brothers, Harrel Estes of Salem, Arkansas, and Jim Estes of Rock Falls, Illinois; a sister, Argie Lapio of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; nephew, Joe Bonds (Julie); many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters, Eileen, Bernice and Ella Faye. Funeral services are Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 1:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Pallbearers are Terry Dillard, Jim Watkins, John Simers, Beau Estes, Evan Estes and Eli Estes. Honorary pallbearers are Carson Estes, Oliver Estes, Andrew Velek, Nathan Velek and Brady Velek. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Homes.
