Tommie Rebecca Fryar was born in Biscoe, Arkansas, June 26, 1926, daughter of Charles Edward and Minnie Nolan (Rodgers) Nichols. She departed this life Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Rebecca was a homemaker and raised her children in Memphis, Tennessee, before moving to Salem where she spent the last 25 years of her life. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her pets and was an animal lover. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Rebecca is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Miller (Charlie) of Salem, Arkansas; three sons, Tommy Lester Godair (Peggy) of Memphis, Tennessee, Wayne Alvin Godair of Osceola, Arkansas, and Charles Emmett Parrish (Pam) of Memphis, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Billie Louise Moses of Hugo, Oklahoma; two brothers, Lloyd Alan Nichols (Ruby) of Forrest City, Arkansas, Raymond Nichols (Joanne) of Houston, Texas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Nichols; a sister, Nina Shaw, and three brothers, Charles, Clarence and Floyd Nichols.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 9, 2015, 2:00 PM at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are Kevin Godair, Todd Parrsih, Mike Parrish, Ben Parrish, Nathan Miller, Jason Miller, Michael Lund, Garrett Miller, Aaron Hudson, Drew Jones, Chase Jones, Gabe Miller and Cody Bitner. Memorials preferred to Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Salem Cemetery.
