Rodney Dean Kankey was born August 15, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Billy Dean and Charlotte Carolyn (Perryman) Kankey. He departed this life Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 54 years and 1 month.
Rodney was an auctioneer, rodeo announcer, a horse trader, and had "the gift" to talk a person into doing about anything, whether they wished to or not. He was of the Christian faith and will be missed by all who really knew him.
Rodney is survived by one daughter, Cheyenne Kankey of Charleston, Arkansas; a son, Colton Kankey of Viola, Arkansas; parents, Bill and Charlotte Kankey of Viola, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015, 2:00 PM at Byron Cemetery in Byron, Arkansas, with Daniel Ochoa officiating. Interment will follow in Byron Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are Danny Perryman, Gary Perryman, Joe Hamby, Freeman Davis, Billy Porterfield and Braidon Friend.
