Joyce Faye (Madden) Perkins was born October 15, 1943, in Thayer, Missouri, daughter of William Isaac and Tennie Emmaline (Huffman) Madden. She departed this life Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 17 days.
Joyce was united in marriage to William "Bill" Nelson Perkins on August 13, 1959, at Lake City, Arkansas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Joyce was a member of the Lanton Baptist Church. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Bill Perkins of Moko, Arkansas; two daughters, Lee Perkins Caldwell (John) of Nesbit, Mississippi, and Lois Perkins Yancey (James) of Oxford, Arkansas; three sons, William Hasadore Perkins (Sara) of Moko, Arkansas, Edward Nelson Perkins (Delainya) of Liberty, Texas, and James Russell Perkins of Moko, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Evelyn Fohey, Ann Ross and Agnes Landis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, 2:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Rev. Charles Barnett officiating and eulogy by Lee Perkins Caldwell. Interment will be in Stateline Cemetery at Moko, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 6 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are John (JC) Caldwell, Anthony Perkins, Michael Perkins, W.H. Perkins, Cannon Caldwell and Daniel Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Cunningham and Kelly Bruce Ingram. Memorials preferred to Stateline Cemetery.
