Nolan Wayne Martin was born in Judsonia, Arkansas, March 10, 1948, son of Perry Curtis and Francine (Tally) Martin. He departed this life Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his home in Gepp, Arkansas, at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 16 days.
Nolan was a roller operator in highway construction for many years. He served with the US Marine Corp as a SGT during the Vietnam War. Nolan was of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by two sons, Bryan Martin and wife, Rhonda of Henderson, Arkansas, and Buddy Martin of Texas; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Badaidra, Daniel, Emily and John; one great grandson, Aiden; two sisters, Phyllis Henderson of Benton, Arkansas, and Gwenna Fierro and husband, Juan of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister-in-law, Sharon Martin of Searcy, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Fran Hurst and a brother, Dennis Martin.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, 11:00 AM at Providence Cemetery near Judsonia, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, May 1, 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers are Kermit Cotter, Vernon Hutson, Brad Hutson, James Dean "Jayme" Hutson, Hogan Lucy and Pete Lucy. Memorials preferred to the Humane Society and may be left at Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
