Everett Herman Evans was born in Heart, Arkansas, on September 17, 1920, son of Charlie C. and Dulcie (Boydston) Evans. He departed this life in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on April 17, 2015, at the age of 94 years and 7 months.
Everett was a member of Heart General Baptist Church in Heart, Arkansas, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was past president of Farm Bureau, 4-H leader, and a board of directors member of Saddle Cemetery Association. Everett proudly served his Country during WWII with the US Army.
He is survived by two daughters, Hazel Tucker (John), and Sue Hutson of Salem, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Barbara Taylor (Gary) of Searcy, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Vickie Bishop (Wayne) of Salem, Arkansas; stepgranddaughter, Julie Stearns (Dennis) of Searcy, Arkansas; two great grandchildren, C.J. Bishop (Lucinda) of Salem, Arkansas, and Tesa Nelson (Robert) of Camp, Arkansas; three great-great grandchildren, Whitt and Bryce Bishop and Reece Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews; two special caregivers, Ester Eldried and Pam Bryant; many other relatives and friends. Everett was preceded in death by both wives, Grace and Ruby; his parents; a sister, Lorene Rupp; one brother, Hubert Evans and son-in-law, Jim Hutson.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015, 2:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Saddle Cemetery in Saddle, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Memorials preferred to Saddle Cemetery Association.
