Bobby Ray Bassham was born in Moko, Arkansas, on April 1, 1940, son of James Hamilton and Lennie Mae (Carter) Bassham. He departed this life Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at his home in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Bobby was united in marriage to Kathleen McDaniel on April 11, 1970, at Flint, Michigan. He was an electrician with General Motors for twenty eight years and also served with the United States Navy. Bobby returned to Arkansas, retiring as a cattle rancher, wood worker and "Pawpaw".
Bobby is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bassham of the home in Salem, Arkansas; one daughter, Rachel Stephens and husband, John of Salem, Arkansas; five granddaughters, Summer, Lake, Sky, Rain and Sage; a sister, Anna Bassham of Flint, Michigan; one brother, Tilmon Bassham of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ash Flat, Arkansas, with John Stephens officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, February 13, 2015, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will be in the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Memorials preferred to Stateline Cemetery Association.
