Leroy Taylor was born January 15, 1934, in Mayflower, Arkansas, son of Oscar and Daisy (Moore) Taylor. He departed this life Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 81 years and 10 days.
Leroy was united in marriage to Lanetta Stephens on April 14, 1997, at Russellville, Arkansas. He was a baker in the food industry and also enjoyed heavy machinery as a bush hog operator.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Lanetta Taylor of Viola, Arkansas; one daughter, Sheila Plowman of Sacramento, Califronia; a son, Danny Taylor of Great Falls, Montana; two sisters, Lois Taylor of Atkins, Arkansas, and Mary Hermosa (Romeo) of Bakersfield, California; five brothers, L.D. Taylor (Sherry) of Viola, Arkansas, Wayne Taylor (Barbara) of Wichita, Kansas, J.R. Taylor (Connie) of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Thomas Taylor (Linda) of Atkins, Arkansas, and Ed Taylor (Diane) of Russellville, Arkansas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; special granddaughter, Shannon Denise Brown; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Dean (Douglas) Taylor; a son, David Taylor; his parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015, 10:00 AM in Barker Funeral Home Chapel at Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Family will receive friends at the home in Viola, Arkansas, Monday evening, January 26, 2015. Interment will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Memorials preferred to the family and may be left at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Stacy Perryman, Steve Perryman, Dan Perryman, Boyd Dailey, Connie Hutson, Oscar Villanueva and Norman Montgomery.
