Katherine Emily (Kragler) McCullough, daughter of Frederick and Mabel (Green) Kragler was born February 6, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She departed this life Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Care Manor Nursing Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 87 years and 5 months.
Katherine was united in marriage to Earl Lothes McCullough on June 2, 1951, in Yuma, Arizona. To this union five children were born.
Katherine served her country in the Navy Waves. She was Recorder-Treasurer for the city of Salem and a real estate broker with her husband. Katherine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 57 years and served as Deputy Grand Lecturer for two years. She was a life member of the Salem VFW Auxiliary and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Katherine was an amateur genealogist and started the Annual McCullough Family Reunion in 1972. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames XVII Century, and National Society Daughters of the Union.
Survivors include her children, Yvonne Orsborn (Darrel) of Gainesville, Missouri, Vanessa Williams of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Sandra Duncan (Alan) of Elm Springs, Arkansas, and Cheryl McCullough (Mary Jackson) of Thayer, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Aimee Williams (Graham) McEveen of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Matthew (Christina Kaster) Williams of Williamsburg, Virginia, Brian (Robin Bell) Orsborn of Koshkonong, Missouri, Leslie Orsborn (John) O'Leary of Luray, Kansas, Alan Keith Duncan of Springdale, Arkansas, Brad (Jenni Hammons) Duncan of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sarah Duncan (Doug) Powell of Springdale, Arkansas; thirteen great grandchildren, Lindsey Ann Duncan, Mary Katherine McElveen, Charles Marion McElveen, Austin James Bell, Jade Matison Bell, Brylie Rhea Orsborn, Mallory Grace Williams, Chase Bradley Duncan, Peyton Melanie Duncan, Taylor Kaydee Duncan, Karmyn Elisabeth Powell, Dominick Douglas Powell, and Jayla Alexis O'Leary; one sister, Frances Sons of Bethel, Ohio; one brother, Fred Kragler of Ripley, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded by her husband, Earl McCullough, son, Gary Earl McCullough US Navy, who was killed in an accident at the age of 20; her parents; sister-in-law, June Kragler; brother-in-law, William (Bill) Sons; and two half sisters, Alice Dolbow and Janet Willis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014, 2:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Rev. Cherie Baker and John Ed Welch officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Salem Cemetery Association or Salem United Methodist Church.
