Mickey Wade Oliver was born in West Plains, Missouri, on November 8, 1953, son of Frank Wade and Oneta (Rosier) Oliver. He departed this life Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 12 days.
Mickey was united in marriage to Judy Ann Ward on December 31, 1972, at Salem, Arkansas. He was a respected educator, serving 34 plus years as teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. Mickey was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandkids to the creek. He loved all of the great outdoors, shooting, gardening, and was of the Christian faith. Mickey was also a Park Ranger with the Army Corp of Engineers.
He is survived by his wife Judy Oliver of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Casey Oliver and wife April of Gum Springs, Arkansas, and Jason Oliver and wife Megon of Russellville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Mallory, Wesley, Bennett, Luke and Nate; his parents, Frank and Oneta Oliver of Salem, Arkansas; one brother, Eddy Oliver and wife Jeanie of Viola, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2014, with Bro. Mike Haney officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will be in the Gum Springs Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
